Join us here at Poundland & Dealz as a Contracts Manager in our Property Services team. Based in our Customer Support Centre in Walsall, the role will work on a hybrid basis and include some travel to other sites and suppliers.
As Contracts Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the creation, negotiation, and management of contracts with suppliers and service providers with a key focus on Facilities Management. You will ensure we are compliant with legal and regulatory requirements, managing contract risks, supporting the strategic objectives of Poundland and Dealz through effective contract management. You will frequently meet with current/new clients to review Performance, efficiency and to negotiate terms & conditions.
With autonomy and trust to make an impact from day one, you’ll be responsible for:
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Legal, Procurement, Property Operations, Retail Support, Property Services Team and Profit Protection to ensure contracts meet business and operational requirements.
- Contract Negotiation: Lead contract negotiations with suppliers, contractors, and service providers, ensuring favorable terms, efficiencies and alignment with project and business objectives.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate contract risks, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- External Partnerships: Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, clients, and service providers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services.
- Cost Management: Challenge supplier costs to ensure quality and value, and approve contract payments.
- Manage costs in-line with business annual budget targets.
- Leadership and Guidance: Provide leadership and guidance to contract management teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
- Contract Management: Oversee the entire contract lifecycle, including drafting, reviewing, negotiating and performance managing.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Performance Monitoring: Track contract performance against key performance indicators, making necessary adjustments to meet objectives.
- Policy Implementation: Implement contract management policies, procedures, and best practices to drive continuous improvement and efficiency.
- Industry Awareness: Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in contract management.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements related to contract management.
We are looking for a proven Contract Manager with experience in contract management across a large and mulit-sited commercial organisation. Retail experience is preferred but not essential. You will be able to demonstrate expertise in contract law, procurement processes, and risk management techniques. A high-level understanding of legal and regulatory requirements related to contract management, including safety, environmental, and accessibility standards is essential. You will have experience in selecting, onboarding, and offboarding suppliers, as well as, strong supplier performance management skills.
